Email Setup (Non-SSL)

When you access an email account through a desktop email application such as Microsoft Outlook 2000® for Windows®, or a Smart Phone device like an iPhone, Android or Windows based operating system, the email application will require specific information about your email account. You can request the auto-configure options to attempt to automatically configure your email application. If the available options are not compatible with your application, you will need to use the Manual Settings information.

Email Setup Videos:  iPhone Email Video / Android Email Video

Manual Settings Information:

Non-SSL Settings:

Username:  Email account you requested
Password:   Use the email account’s password.

Incoming Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
IMAP: Port 143   (Authentication Not Required)
POP3: Port 110   (Authentication Not Required)

Outgoing Server: mail.yourdomainname.com
SMTP: Port 25 Authentication is required for IMAP, POP3, and SMTP.

Notes:

  • IMAP email access coordinates between the server and your mail application. Messages that have been read/deleted/replied to will show up as such, both on the server and in the mail application.

  • POP3 does not coordinate with the server. Messages marked as read/deleted/replied to in the mail application will not show up as such on the server. This means that future mail downloads with POP3 will show all messages as unread.

  • Outgoing mail is sent using SMTP.

  • We recommend using IMAP over Non SSL. If you feel your emails need to be critically secured for your interactions, use the secured connection. The emails may take a little longer to get to the destination because of the security protocols and processes of the networks being used, ie Gmail, AOL, MSN, Yahoo, Hotmail, Live, iCloud, etc. Each company has it's own protocols to transfer and relay incoming and outgoing messages.
